There's a bend in Lake Como, just past Bellagio, where a little stone bridge arcs over a stream running down from the mountains into the lake — and the water there turns the most impossible shade of turquoise you've ever seen, almost too vivid to be real. That's Nesso, and it's the moment I wanted to capture in A Quiet Corner of Nesso, Lake Como, Italy: sun-yellow buildings wrapped in ivy and red shutters, a weathered stone footbridge, dense green hillside pressing in from behind, and that impossibly bright water below.
